ABOUT HAIR TO WED

I knew from very early on that I wanted to be a hairdresser.

I began my career young. For several months before ever setting foot behind a real client, I was cleaning salon floors and dreaming of the day I could apply my talents to a real head of hair rather than just a dolly.

The first time a person put their trust in my hands, I felt exhilarated. I began the interaction and was given the first shot at working my magic. When you work in hairdressing, you are not just a stylist. You’re a listener, an interpreter, an artist and a conversationalist. You truly need to seek out your clients’ vision. I began to master the art of interpreting and delivering the desires of my clients, and as soon as saw their satisfaction – the success of my work – I was completely hooked.

This has been the case for the last 11 years. With every client, I am continually mastering and improving my art, seeking out their vision and making them feel their best selves. I have always had an eye for detail and a passion for styling. Naturally, I am drawn to and fascinated by all types of hair, the challenges it creates and potential it holds.

I know that, for me, hair is truly a passion and I’ve made it my mission to excel in hairstyling as a career.
I completed most of my training in England and have a wealth of experience between working with a diverse range of clients between the UK and Queenstown. I am constantly looking to upskill and keep myself up to date with the latest trends. I love to experiment, create and explore. I attend courses regularly to seek out the absolute best styles that are appearing in the industry. And I still love to take out the ol’ dolly to practice and let my creativity flow.

Being able to make a career out of something I love means the world to me. I am so excited to bring my knowledge and experience to a person’s special day whether it be for a wedding, pre-wedding, engagement or any other occasion. For me, sitting down with a client, really listening to their wants and wishes, and interpreting their vision is an exciting experience. Better than that is seeing their happiness and satisfaction on the day, when they feel confident, beautiful and truly themselves.

I love when a client sends me inspiration whether it’s from Pinterest, Instagram or a magazine. Equally, I am just as ecstatic when they are happy to trust me and let me do my thing. Either way, I am delighted to advise to the best of my ability and master the perfect style.

In my spare time, when I’m not working professionally (…and experiencing withdrawal symptoms…) you can find me enjoying all that this beautiful town has to offer – getting out for hikes, camping, scenic drives or anything else that might take my fancy.

I’ve been living in Queenstown since 2013 and feel so privileged to call it my home. I could not be happier, it’s truly a magical place.

MY LATEST WEDDINGS & HAIR STYLING

Tina was recommended by a hair dresser I’d originally contacted, I couldn’t have been happier. We had 1 trial in June. Discussed some changes to the style, on the wedding day, it was exactly what I wanted. Tina was so accommodating and so easy to work with. She did my hair, 3x bridesmaids hair and my mums hair all amidst the chaos of 12 people in the house, cooking breakfast and running around. Highly recommend Hair to Wed to other Brides!

Tina is incredible! I called her only a few days before my wedding (after realizing that doing my own hair for my wedding would not be relaxing at all) and she completely put me at ease and even arranged a makeup artist for me. She did a fantastic job with my hair, patiently listening to my desires and delivering a simple yet unique and classic look with a modern flair. It held in place very well with our helicopter wedding. She is very kind and went above and beyond by allowing my family members to use her flat iron for a few days, as ours was not working properly. I highly recommend Tina!

I’m not one to post many reviews, but Tina truly deserves it. When we started planning our New Zealand wedding from Washington, DC a year and a half before the date, we had everything picked and confirmed. A week before our wedding, our hairstylist cancelled on us leaving us in a panic. Thanks to a recommendation, we found Tina! She came to our rescue and made us feel calm, cool, and collected on our wedding day. On top of that, our hair looked gorgeous, of course! She made us feel so special. Thank you, Tina! We look forward to working with you again one day!
